Help!

Anyone want to come over? Anyone?

I have lots of stories, but I'm theiving our neighbor's wireless connection and have to hold my laptop above my head to connect. So the stories will wait until I can tell them without physical contortions. All is well, though, and we're enjoying our new neighborhood. Here are some pics of the kiddos to tide you all over until we come back from our Thanksgiving trip to Georgia.

Boston Children's Museum

Yesterday we took the kids to the Boston's Children's Museum. The kids had a great time playing with giant bubbles, water, cowboy gear, construction equipment, and best of all, the pigeons outside (these little Vermonters were mesmerized by birds that would come up so close to you).

We drove back to Vermont yesterday afternoon, and we were all sick and miserable. We got home at 7:30 and I was in bed about 10 minutes after I got the kids down. Hayden woke up about 7 times and was up for the day before 6 a.m. These kids are lucky they're so cute or I just might strike. Today has been a pajama/TV-watching fest with lots of hot chocolate and naps on the sofa.

Why the day after Halloween TOTALLY trumps Halloween

Claire's first Tootsie Pop ("Mommy, I LOVE this lollipop!")

Hayden's first M&M

He spilled the rest of the bag on the floor and quite happily ate them and then licked the floor clean (okay, not really that last part...although, if he had, I would totally lie and say he didn't, so you'll never really know)

Halloween!

Our day started off with a Halloween sing-along at Claire's school, and the sing-along continued for the next several hours (much to my dismay) as we drove down to Boston to go trick-or-treating with Justin. If I hear, "Pumpkin, pumpkin, round and fat - turn into a jack-o-lantern just like THAT!" again, something inside me might snap and start smashing pumpkins.

Justin is staying in a little town called Marblehead for the next few weeks until we move into the Salem house. Marblehead was described to us as a rich beach town where old people sit around, drink wine, and talk about their investments. What a perfect place to trick-or-treat! About half of the the houses we went to gave out full-sized candy bars. Woohoo!! Uh, I mean...woohoo for the kids, of course.

Our little skunk (you picked it!) was a trick-or-treating phenom. This was the first year she has really been into it and she was hilarious. When people opened their doors, she almost always asked them if she could come in. Most of the people let her pick what she wanted from their candy bowls, so "trick or treat" quickly turned into, "What've you got?" which doesn't sound nearly as polite. At least she's 3 and it's still cute. Hayden was completely not into the Halloween scene. He begrudgingly humored us by allowing us to dress him in a puppy costume. The hood on his costume was too small for his >98% head and wouldn't stay on his noggin. We heard, "Is he a squirrel?" more than once. That's okay because we had more than one person ask us whether Claire was a sheep or a panda. Huh? These must be the people that can't find Canada on a map.

Sing-Along Fun (Claire is the wee one in the purple jacket)

The only picture I managed to get of both of them.

I normally wouldn't publish such a weird picture of me (was I imitating the Joker?), but Hayden looks so cute
