Diva

It's so hard to choose a favorite part of this ensemble. The feather boa? The tutu? For me, hands down...it's the Elmo slippers.

Month One

Dear Hayden,
We haven't slept very well since you arrived a month ago. Yes, some of that sleep deprivation is because you are pretty insistent about eating every 3 hours or so, but it's also because your daddy and I sometimes just stay awake and stare at you. We say things like, "Remind me of how cute he is right now in 2 years when he squirts a whole tube of toothpaste onto our bed." And your daddy also says things like, "I wonder if the parents of baseball stars get free season tickets." You are so little and it's hard to believe you're not going to be a baby forever. In a few months, you'll be sitting up, then crawling, walking, and pretty soon after that saying things like, "NO! I do it myself!" So when I stumble out of bed after a less than restful night's sleep, I try to remind myself to enjoy every second...even the ones in the middle of the night. After that, I remind myself to remember to record more decent shows on Tivo so I don't have to watch infomercials when I'm awake with you in the wee hours of the morning.

Your days pretty much consist of eating, sleeping, and making sure mommy has plenty of laundry to do (oh, I can't wait to teach you and your sister how to do laundry!). You love to stare at your sister, or maybe you just don't have anywhere else to look because she gets so close to your face. She was a bit wary of you at first, but she's warmed up to you and loves to say your name followed by whatever activity you are doing - "Hayden eating!" "Hayden sleeping!" "Hayden crying." That's pretty much all you do right now, but hopefully we'll add more to the list in the next month. I can't wait for "Hayden smiling!" which you do sometimes, but something tells me it's not from happiness. It is absolutely precious, nonetheless.

I look forward to this next month with you, to more coos and grunts and maybe even four straight hours of sleep. If we can't manage that, it's okay - I just set Tivo to record every episode of The Dog Whisperer. Perhaps Cesar Millan can help us figure out why Riley is eating our hardwood floors.

Love,
Mommy

Tucker & Riley - the forgotten children

Claire is the only person Riley will willingly give his favorite ball to.

Tucker ...yes, he's getting old. :(

Go Dawgs!

Yes, I know it is only a warm up game against Western Kentucky High...but it counts! We would like to thank Aunt Robyn and Uncle Greg for making sure Hayden is all decked out in the proper attire.

Decisions, decisions...

What do you think? Would Hayden look better in the Donald or the Samuel L.? http://www.babytoupee.com/
